A happy fall

We're wrapping up our big programs for the fall, which is both a relief (a chance to catch my breath and focus on some other projects that have been hanging out there for a while) and a shame - I love programming and our renewed collaboration with the school district meant that we had some seriously terrific activities this fall.

I've included some photos below of kids, well, being kids and having a good time at the library.

Our spooky story contest (the first ever at the library) garnered 53 entries, with 9 winners. We had 60+ people attend the reading, which was phenomenal.

Allison reads her winning entry out loud. I gave the kids the option of reading on their own, or having me read them. I probably read five!

I love planning fun activities for early dismissal days - this t-shirt making workshop was messy but loads of fun.

Some of the gaggle that showed up for t-shirt decorating. I made out like a bandit - we kept painting on paper while the shirts were drying and I got to keep a stack of paintings.

We hosted two fabulous entertainers for our Thanksgiving story time this week. It's a nice break for me and adds a sense of festivity to the library around the holiday.
